Guiding Good Choices

A five-week course that aids parents and/or caregivers 4th – 8th graders help their kids. The course covers how to set clear guidelines with both positive and negative consequences, how to control and express anger constructively, promote family bonds and prepare kids with “refusal” skills for a time when trouble may tempt them. Guiding Good Choices gives parents the opportunity to share successes and challenges they face in raising children while learning or refining strategies that have been shown to help children make healthy choices. “The workshop opened my eyes to all the problems facing children today.”, said a GGC class participant. “If you have kids, you owe it to yourself and your family to take this course!”  — No courses are scheduled at this time, please email or call BAPC to be added to a waiting list and be notified of upcoming Guiding Good Choices course opportunities.

 

Parenting Teens Wisely

Parenting Teens Wisely is a three-hour workshop guided by two trained facilitators who will teach parents and caregivers the skills and techniques they need to better understand and support children ages 10-19. Parent participants will lean how to problem solve, encourage cooperation with their tween/teen and learn to develop fair and effective discipline skills. — No courses are scheduled at this time, please email or call BAPC to be added to a waiting list and be notified of upcoming Guiding Good Choices course opportunities.

Guiding Good Choices Newsletter

BAPC publishes Guiding Good Choices quarterly during the academic school year. Guiding Good Choices newsletter is mailed direct the homes of  all Brattleboro Area Middle School parents and sent home in the backpacks of all students, ages 4th-8th grade in the WSESU school district. BAPC’s Guiding Good Choices newsletter contains positive parenting tips, tips for talking with your children, information on the developing adolescent brain and strategies for providing the tools needed for youth to make healthy choices, calendar events and more. Click here to read previously published editions of Guiding Good Choices.

 

High School Parent Newsletter

BAPC publishes the High School Parent Newsletter twice during the academic school year.
